State Sen. Dale Righter (R-Mattoon) issued the following statement as reaction to Gov. Bruce Rauner’s State of the State Address Jan. 25.
“Illinois needs change—real change,” State Sen. Dale Righter (R-Mattoon) said. “Not change that simply asks taxpayers to pay more, without significant reform to our economic policies and cutting our spending. Rather, change that balances our budgets and truly encourages economic growth and job creation. The Governor outlined, again today, his vision for this change. He also laid out what his administration has already done, and these changes have already begun to create more jobs and reduce spending.
“Citizens across this state sent strong messages the past two years, demanding a better economy, more jobs, property tax and fiscal reforms, balanced budgets, and changing the way Springfield operates. I hope this new General Assembly can set a new tone that the days of problem solving are now here.”
