The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures on U.S. 41 in Evansville for the repair of a railroad crossing.
The repair will take place in two phases. The first phase will begin Monday, Dec. 19. Crews with Railworks will repair the north bound lanes of the crossing between S.R. 66 and S.R. 57 near Yokel Road. A crossover will be used to route traffic into the southbound lanes temporarily. This phase is expected to take less than a week, depending upon weather conditions.
The second phase of the repair will take place beginning Tuesday, December 27. Railworks crews will close the southbound lanes and use the crossover to route traffic temporarily into the northbound lanes. This phase is expected to take less than a week, depending upon weather conditions.
During both phases of the repair, lanes will be closed around the clock.
