Carmi American Legion Post 224’s season came to an end last night before the storms rolled through losing to Fairfield by a 9-0 final. Carmi only managed 5 players reaching base through the entire game and finishes the season with an 11-11 mark. Cole Blazier took the hard luck loss giving up 5 runs, 4 of them earned in an inning and 2/3 of work. Trey Simmons pitched 2 and 1/3 of relief giving up 4 runs. Cal York was a bright spot last night on the mound pitching the final 2 innings, striking out 3 and giving up only a hit, no runs. Simmons, Brandon Skaggs, Cole Blazier, and CJ Richardson were the only Carmi players to muster a hit against the stout pitching of Fairfield.
