A Posey County man couldn’t out run the long arm of the Carmi Police Department Thursday morning. 32 year old Alex Ricketts, address listed as Munchoff Street in Mt. Vernon, Indiana was allegedly spotted by Carmi PD driving a blue Chrysler 200 on Main at Plum Street. It’s reported the officer knew Ricketts was wanted on multiple warrants and attempted a traffic stop. Ricketts pulled into an alley and fled on foot. A short time later, Ricketts was found hiding inside a building on Olive and taken into custody. The 5’9” Posey County fugitive has been charged with driving without a valid license, resisting a peace officer, unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon, and cited for possession of about 12 grams of pot. His warrants were out of White and Posey Counties for Failure to Appear and Contempt on charges of Possession of Meth. Ricketts remains behind bars on $11,575 bail. Online court records don’t yet indicate his next date before a judge.
