A call for assistance in Gibson County, Indiana turned into a free ride to the jail for a Calhoun, IL man. The Gibson County Sheriff’s office has released details on the arrest of 29 year old Aaron Vanmatre. It was Sunday evening when a Sergeant was dispatched to a rural area of East Mount Carmel to assist a stranded motorist. Upon arrival, Vanmatre agreed to a ride and was subsequently patted down for weapons by the officer. That search resulted in the seizure of a hypodermic needle.
Vanmatre still got the ride he was looking for. The destination changed however and Vanmatre remains behind bars in Gibson County on a charge of possession of paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle. He’s currently in custody without bond.
