Olney Central College Baseball will host a Winter Camp on Saturday, Jan. 14 at the OCC Gymnasium and Britton’s Bullpen in Olney.
Little League and Youth League, ages 6-14, will meet from 9 a.m. to noon. High school students, ages 15-18, will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $75 and those attending will need to bring a bat, glove, helmet and shoes.
The OCC Winter Camp is excited to bring back many former OCC players and coaches to be instructors at the camp including:
Phil Britton, an Olney native and two-time NJCAA All American who played minor league baseball for seven years and is the owner of Britton’s Bullpen;
Jerad Eickhoff, who made his MLB debut in August 2015 pitching for the Philadelphia Phillies and has given pitching lessons at Britton’s Bullpen for many years;
Andy Haines, current minor league hitting coordinator for the Chicago Cubs and former manager of the New Orleans Zephyrs (AAA Marlins);
Kyle Haines, manager this past year of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (Short Season A San Francisco Giants);
Brady Shoemaker, a two-time NJCAA All American who currently plays AAA with the Miami Marlins and holds many hitting records at OCC; and
Shawn Garret, a six-time Minor League all star, who played with nine different professional organizations.
