The Pets at Risk organization is announcing new rules for those families who take part in their pet food handouts. As of September 1st, Pets at Risk will be giving out pet food on Wednesdays at 10am. The new location is in rural Carmi at 1597 County Road 1100 East. Jackie Weber is taking over the Pet Food distribution effort that has been handled for years by Pets at Risk member Deanna Hart. Pets at Risk is a non profit organization with the mission of helping pets in need. The group raises money to help pay for spaying, neutering or emergency care for dogs and cats in the area as well as other services. Pets at Risk is always looking for new volunteers and ideas. Meetings are held at 5:30pm on the third Wednesday of each month at the First Mid Illinois Bank and Trust conference room.
