New Administration for Grayville

GRAYVILLE CITY COUNCIL

At the approximately half hour Grayville City Council meeting last night, the new Mayor and city commissioners were sworn in.

New Mayor Travis Thompson was sworn in first, followed by new city commissioners Donovan Baldwin, Tyler Howell and Chris James. As he left. outgoing Mayor Joe Bisch thanked everyone for letting him serve as their mayor for 40 years. The outgoing commissioners are Andy Brock, Josh Downs and Bob Stroud.

Following the swearing in, Committee Appointments were announced. Baldwin and David Jordan to the Police Committee, Howell and James to the Park Committee, Baldwin and Howell to the Cemetery Committee and the Liquor Commission, and Jordan, Sharon Walden and Jay Walden to the Revolving Loan Committee. Library Board Members ratified were Ruth Schmidt, Dennis Reese, Lana Pierson and Dale Mosberger.\

Jo Ellen Seil was reappointed as City Clerk, Sharon Walden as Treasurer and Roy Mann as Police Chief.

The council approved Danny Bowland’s requests to block off North Middle Street at the Downtown Pavilion for the Model Car Show to be held on Saturday, June 22nd.

Also approved was leasing the concession stands at the park to Maria Neeley for three dollars a day plus use of the facilities, lease and building, to be run by her daughter Hallie.

And they decided to table participation with the Illinois South Tourism Bureau and to table purchasing a mosquito fogger until they can get more information.

The oil income for April was $1,773.66.

And the city received an invitation to a grant writing in Evansville and will have to decide on who should attend.
