NCOE School Board passes budget

The NCOE Board of Education recently held a public hearing June 21st and passed the 2017-2018 amended budget.

During the regularly scheduled board meeting that followed, the minutes and the bills for the month were approved as presented.

Prairie Farms will once again provide milk for the 2018-2019 school year. CRS OneSource was awarded the bid for cafeteria supplies and bread and bakery products.

The Board employed Jim Tucker for varsity basketball coach and Jordan Johnson as high school p.e. teacher.

The pre-k program was approved for the new grant and will be transitioning to a full day program. Jenny Ridge was hired for a new pre-k teaching position.

The administrators stated summer maintenance is on schedule. Mr. Vollman gave the Board a rundown of what is in progress and what is scheduled to be completed.

Mr. Vollman was happy to report that the employee health insurance will see a 0.26% decrease. The vision and dental insurance rates will be the same.

The Board approved the student handbooks for the 2018-2019 school year.

Items that were tabled during the meeting were accepting the booth trust report from Conger & Elliot; employing special education coordinator; and employing elementary teacher.

In other business the Board:

– Accepted the resignations of Brenda Garrett, aide; Marcus Niehaus, 7th grade basketball coach; and Scot Weiss, assistant softball coach.

– Set Board meeting dates for 2018-2019

– Signed a Petition to the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Enfield

to Vacate a Street

– Adopted a Resolution to Approving Intergovernmental Transfer of Real

Property
