Mustache Dash 5K To Benefit American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society and Heartland Regional Medical Center will be hosting a Mustache Dash 5K and a Little Mustache Kids Fun Run on Saturday, December 2nd at Carbondale Community High School in Carbondale, IL.  Registration for this event begins at 9:00 AM and the Fun Run will begin at 10:00 AM with the 5K race following.

The Mustache Dash 5K is a race benefitting the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life events of Jackson and Williamson County to fund cancer research, local programs and services and education on cancer prevention. The 5K will wrap up the month of “no shave November,” bringing Men’s Cancer Awareness to the public eye and giving participants a place to show off their mustaches and beards before shaving them off.  Participants are encouraged to grow out their facial hair for the 5K during the month of November and share their progress on Relay For Life of Jackson County Carbondale’s Facebook page. If you can’t grow facial hair grab your best costume mustache or beard and join in on the fun!

Timing services will be provided by So iLL Racing. Registration for the 5K is $25 and includes a long sleeve t-shirt. Registration for the Little Mustache Kids Fun Run is $5, for a medal and a mustache, or $15 for a medal, mustache, and shirt. You must register by November 24th to guarantee a shirt.

Medals awarded to overall male and female run and walk finishers and medals for top finishers, male and female, in each age category. Medals will also be given to the best fake and real facial hair in the following categories: Best Male Mustache, Best Beard and Best Female Mustache, and a medal for Most Mustached Individual. So grab or grow your best mustache and dash to the Mustache Dash 5K!
