The White County Sheriff’s Department, Southern Illinois Drug Task Force, and Norris City Police executed a search warrant Wednesday at 12:30 pm at a residence at 311 N Powell Street in Norris City. The warrant had been issued to locate illegal drugs and related items.
No one was in the residence at the time of the warrant search, resulting in the need for a forced entry.
Items seized inside the residence included 7.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a large number of prescription pills including morphine, diazepam, and hydroxyzine, 5 grams of cannabis, numerous cannabis plants growing in the garage, a .22 caliber pistol, and over $5000 in cash.
No arrests have been made at this time, but reports have been filed with States Attorney Denton Aud for criminal charges.
This is the second search warrant served this week to combat illegal drugs in White County, and Sheriff Doug Maier anticipates several arrests to be made.
