Folks headed to Evansville this morning by way of travelling through Mt. Vernon may need to plan for some extra time to get through the city. Mayor Bill Curtis says due to renovations on Main Street from Water to Sixth, there will be detours in place. Northbound Main Street will be completely closed north of Highway 62 while traffic detours to Mill Street, then lower New Harmony Road and Grant before heading east back towards Main.
No word yet on just how long we can expect those detoured traffic patterns to remain in place.
