Monday morning, Wabash County first responders were called to the Wabash River Bridge following a report of a woman jumping into the river.
When officers arrived at 11:38 am, they were able to see the subject floating down the river. Mt. Carmel Fire Water Rescue was able to retrieve the woman, and she was transported to Wabash General Hospital. The woman was only identified as a 60 year old from Mt. Carmel, and is expected to make a full recovery.
Mt. Carmel Police, the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department, the Mt. Carmel Fire Department, and Wabash General EMS all responded to the call.
