Mt. Carmel Student Arrested After Alleged Threats
A Mt. Carmel student was arrested late last week after it was determined the student had made a comment to another student about bringing a gun to school.
Mt. Carmel police and Wabash Count Sheriff’s Department immediately investigated the incident and while authorities found the alleged threat not to be viable, the student was taken into custody.
Wabash County Schools Superintendent pointed out that Mt. Carmel High school has and will take all appropriate actions to maintain a safe and orderly environment. The superintendent, Chuck Bleyer said, “we want to assure the public that District 348 take all threats seriously and will continue to be diligent if and when they come to our attention.
