More information has been released about a shooting that occurred in Gallatin County Tuesday afternoon.
According to a press release from States Attorney Doug Dyhrkopp, reports that the incident was the result of a drive-by shooting have been proven false, and the shooting now appears to be accidental in nature. Gallatin County law enforcement wants to assure the public that no gunman is on the loose, and there is no threat of public danger.
Multiple pieces of evidence collected during the execution of a search warrant Tuesday night at the residence the shooting occurred at led to one individual being taken into custody, and formal charges will be filed in Gallatin County Circuit Court today.
The victim, who has still not been identified, remains hospitalized with a wound to the abdomen. Potential complications from the wound include a collapsed lung, nicked liver, and blood clot concerns.
More information will be released as it becomes available.
