The search for 64 year old Wendell Williams came to an end Thursday evening. Even though Williams body has been recovered, we’re still left with many more questions than answers. The Saline County man left his home in Harrisburg around 9am a week ago (on Saturday, Aug 10th) after talking to his son Adam. During that phone call, Williams allegedly told his son of his intention to intentionally harm himself in a location that would be difficult for others to find.
While much sadness comes with Williams death, a positive is the community support that rallied around Willliams’ family. By Thursday, more than 800 people had joined in the private facebook page “Help Find Wendell Williams” and several of those hundreds spent countless hours scouring the region attempting to find Wendell in whatever state they could. Due to that, and in spite of the tremendous sadness that comes in the loss, the family has been very vocal in their overwhelm and appreciative of the wide ranging support.
