Minor Accidents Reported
Carmi Police responded to two minor vehicle accidents Tuesday, with no injuries reported in either crash.
The first occurred shortly after 11 Tuesday morning, when Jordan K. Collins of Newton, driving a vehicle owned by Rex Vault Service backed into a vehicle driven by Kristi R. Hollingsworth of Carmi.
Collins said he was looking for an address on Iris Lane, and after passing the location, backed up, failing to notice the Hollingsworth vehicle. No one was injured and while both vehicles sustained damage, estimated at over $1500 each.
The second crash occurred around 2:45 at the intersection of Route 1/Main Street and Epworth Road, when Scott P. Morse of Eldorado failed to stop in time to avoid crashing into the rear of a vehicle driven by Nickalus, A. Shaffer of rural Carmi.
Morse said he was at fault, failing to make the stop in time to avoid the collision. Damage was estimated at over $1500 to each vehicle, which were driven from the scene.
