On 01/10/2016, at approximately 7:30 am, the Mt. Carmel Police, the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office, and the Illinois State Police Southern Illinois Drug Task Force served arrest warrants on two Mt. Carmel residents wanted for methamphetamine delivery.
Police went to 610 Buchanan Street in Mt. Carmel and took 33 year old Charles R. Leek and 40 year old Amy L. Wheeler into custody. Both subjects were transported them to the Wabash County Jail where they were served the warrants.
The arrests are the result of a lengthy narcotics investigation into the sale and delivery of methamphetamine. Both subjects are being held on a $250,000 bond ($25,000 cash). This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
