The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
09/21/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 31 year old Christina I. Dorney of Albion. Dorney was the passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Dorney was wanted on a failure to appear warrant out of Jasper County. Dorney was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending the posting of $175.00. MCPD was assisted by the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office.
09/22/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 49 year old Danielle M. Lefebvre of Mt. Carmel. Lefebvre was observed operating a motor vehicle in the area of 3rd and Bellmont Street. The arresting officer knew Lefebvre was wanted on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant and initiated a vehicle stop. During the arrest of Lefebvre the arresting officer located drug paraphernalia. Lefebvre was taken to the Wabash County Jail where she was served the failure to appear warrant and issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. Lefebvre was held pending the posting of bond.
09/23/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested three individuals for possession of alcohol by minors after they were in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation. The three individuals were identified as 19 year old Samuel M. Carwile, 19 year old Kyle E. Leek, and 20 year old Lucas B. Wolfe all of Mt. Carmel. The three were taken to the Wabash County Jail where they received their citations.
09/24/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 39 year old Marshall R. Keneipp after police responded to a report of a theft in the 100 block of E. 2nd Street. The complainant advised that a stereo speaker was stolen from the residence. Police were able to locate the speaker at another residence. Police then located Keneipp and placed him under arrest. Keneipp attempted to run from the police but was caught. Police charged Keneipp with residential burglary, theft and resisting a police officer.
09/25/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 30 year old Joshua L. McDowell of Sumner after a vehicle he was in was stopped for a traffic violation. Before the officer initiated the stop he noticed the driver (McDowell) pull into a drive and switch seats with the passenger. The officer noticed the same traffic violation and initiated a vehicle stop. During the traffic stop it was discovered that McDowell was operating the motor vehicle on a suspended driver’s license and was wanted on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant. McDowell was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for driving suspended and served the warrant. The passenger, Mason W. Phillips, age 27 of Bridgeport, who became the driver of the vehicle when it was stopped was issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Phillips was also issued a city ordinance ticket for being in possession of cannabis. Phillips was released at the scene. K-9 Ace assisted in the traffic stop resulting in the arrest.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 40 year old Timothy M. Dunkel of Keensburg after police received multiple calls in regards to a reckless driver. Police located the suspect vehicle and initiated a vehicle stop. The driver failed to stop for police and continued for a short distance. The arresting officer reported that Dunkel appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic. Dunkel was arrested for DUI drugs, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and fleeing/attempting to elude police. Officers also located narcotics in the vehicle. Dunkel was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was issued citations for the above mentioned traffic violations and he was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Dunkel was held pending the posting of bond. MCPD was assisted by the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office.
