The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
08/15/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 42 year old Darick L. Loving of Mt. Carmel after he stopped an off duty officer asking for directions to a residence. The off-duty officer suspected Loving of being under the influence of alcohol and notified on duty officer’s. Loving was arrested after field sobriety testing and charged with DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and illegal transportation of alcohol. Loving was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
08/16/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 27 year old Austin W. Moore of Mt. Carmel after police were called to 1230 N. Walnut Street reference a trespasser. Police located Moore on the property and arrested him for criminal trespass to state supported land. Moore had recently been told not to enter the property owned by Maco Management Co. Moore was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested a couple after they were found to be in possession of a stolen car our of Knox County, Indiana. Police stopped a 2001 Pontiac in the area of Hinde Street and Cherry Street. During the traffic stop the arresting officer was notified that the vehicle was stolen. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Whitney O. Willett, age 27, of Princeton and the passenger was identified as Justin A. Lee, 36, of Vincennes. Narcotics and drug paraphernalia were also located inside of the vehicle. Both Willet and Lee were arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Willett is charged with driving while suspended, unlawful possession of stolen vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of hypodermic needles. Lee was arrested on a Knox County warrant and charged locally with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a hypodermic needle. Both are being held pending the setting and posting of bond.
