The following individuals were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
03/23/2017- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 3 individuals on multiple drug charges after the vehicle they were in was stopped by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. Mt. Carmel Police arrested Austin T. Wiggins, age 32 of Mt. Carmel, Kyria J. Linson, age 33 of Mt. Carmel, and Derrick R. Story of Avinger, Texas. All three have been charged with possession of methamphetamine, participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, possession of methamphetamine precursors, possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material, and illegal use of property to manufacture methamphetamine. Aninger was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. All subjects are being held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 23 year old Trenton E. Hammond of Bone Gap. Hammond was in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation. Officer’s reported that the driver of the vehicle allowed them to search the vehicle for contraband. Officer’s were told by Hammond that he was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Hammond was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Hammond was held pending the posting of bond.
03/24/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 47 year old Chad M. Maurer of Princeton after he was stopped for speeding. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Maurer was operating the 2006 Chevrolet on a suspended driver’s license. Maurer was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for driving while suspeded and speeding. Maurer was held pending the posting of $150.00 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 28 year old Daniel F. Gourley of Mt. Carmel after he was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Gourley’s registration was suspended for no insurance. Gourley was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $100.00 cash.
Gourley would later be arrested on a charge of domestic battery. Police were notified that Gourley got into an physical altercation over being arrested earlier in the day. Gourley is accused of striking a family member. Gourley was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he is being held pending the posting and setting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 38 year old Travis B. Inglis of Mt. Carmel after police responded to a vehicle accident on the parking lot of Dollar General. Inglis was driving a Toyota that struck the bumper of another vehicle. During the investigation it was discovered that Inglis was wanted on a failure to appear warrant for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Inglis was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 33 year old Mallory L. Hall of Mt. Carmel after police were called to 1230 Walnut Street reference an intoxicated female causing a disturbance. Police were told that Hall was causing a disturbance and was officially banned from the property. Hall was located and charged with criminal trespass to government supported property and disorderly conduct. Hall was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested a 15 year old juvenile after it is alleged that he pulled a knife on another juvenile. Police were called to the 400 block of W. 5th Street reference an altercation. Police were told by the juvenile victim that he was punched in the face and had a pocket knife pulled on him by the 15 year old. The 15 year old juvenile was arrested and charged with battery and unlawful use of a weapon. The juvenile suspect was then turned over to a legal guardian. The juvenile suspect will report to juvenile court on 04/04/2017.
03/25/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 37 year old William S. Powless of Mt. Carmel after he was stopped by police. The arresting officer reported that Powless was wanted on a failure to appear warrant out of Fayette County. Powless was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $575.00 bond.
