The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
08/29/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 30 year old Andrew W. Lagow of Mt. Carmel after police were notified of a person acting in a suspicous manner while walking in the 900 block of Market Street. Police made contact with Lagow and found him to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Lagow was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Lagow was held pendng the posting of bond.
08/31/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested two subjects after police were called to the 500 block of Cedar Street in Mt. Carmel reference a fight in progress. An off duty officer observed a female subject in the 500 block of Cedar St. with a baseball bat while two male subjects were in a physical altercation. The off duty officer was able to seperate all the individuals until officers arrived on scene. Police then arrested 18 year old Caleb M. Czak and 40 year old Jason P. Nelson both of Mt. Carmel. Czak and Nelson are accused of striking each other during an altercation. The female subject told offier’s she grabbed a baseball bat in hopes of seperating Czak and Nelson. Nelson required medical care and was taken to Wabash General Hospital. Czak was charged with aggravated domestic battery. Nelson was arrested and charged with domestic battery. Both subjects were being held in the Wabash County Jail pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police cited 31 year old Tabatha N.M. Earle of Mt. Carmel after she was stopped by the police in the area of 3rd and Cedar Street in Mt. Carmel. Police disovered that Earle was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Earle was issued a citation for driving while suspended. Earle was issued a madatory court date and was released.
9/02/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 23 year old Jessenyn L. Lash of Mt. Carmel. Lash is accused of stealing a cell phone from an employee at Conoco Convenient Store. The victim states that she left her phone on the counter and when she went to retrieve it, it was no longer there. Video surveillance was observed and it was discovered that Lash took the phone. Police arrested Lash and charged her with theft over $500.00. Lash was held pending the posting of bond.
09/03/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 24 year old Glenn A. Stauffenberg of Mt. Carmel on a Richland County failure to appear warrant. Police were investigating a complaint of illegal dumping in the 500 block of Mulberry Street. Police made contact with Stauffenberg and discovered he had a warrant. Stauffenberg was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
09/04/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 18 year old Sierra A. Fortner of Mt. Carmel. Fortner was arrested after she was observed by a Mt. Carmel Police Officer operating a 2016 Hyundai. The arresting officer knew Fortner was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Fortner was stopped and placed under arrest. Fortner was cited for driving while license is suspended. Fortner was held pending the posting of bond.
A vehicle stop for a traffic violation resulted in the arrest of 27 year old Brandy L. Bruce of Evansville. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Bruce was wanted on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant and driving on a suspended driver’s license. Bruce was transported to the Wabash County Jail and cited for driving while suspended and issued the Wabash County warrant. The passenger, Christopher E. Buchanan, age 41, of Evansville was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol. Bruce was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 48 year Charles D. Lair of Mt. Carmel. Lair was stopped for a traffic violation and during that stop the arresting officer suspected Lair of being DUI. During the traffic stop Lair is accused of providing the arresting officer false information concerning his date of birth. Lair was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where his correct information was obtained. Lair was cited for DUI, driving while revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and he was charged with obstruction of identification. Lair was held pending the posting of bond.
09/05/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 21 year old Dustin I Fisher of Mt. Carmel after police responded to the 900 block of W. 1stStreet. Police were called to the area in reference to an unwanted male subject. During the investigation it was discovered that Fisher was wanted on a White County warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also located drug paraphernalia on Fisher. Fisher was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond. The complainant in the case was identified as 19 year old Desirae L. Goodwin of Mt. Carmel. Goodwin was arrested after it was discovered that she was wanted on a Wayne County warrant. Goodwin was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
