The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On 07/22/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 28 year old Craig A. Leeper of Mt. Carmel after he was accused of shoplifting at Family Dollar. Leeper is accused of taking two Bic pens without paying for the items. Mt. Carmel Police arrested Leeper and transported him to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
07/23/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 32 year old Crystal D. Adams of Mt. Carmel after she was stopped by officer’s in the 300 block of W. 10th Street. Adams was stopped after the arresting officer confirmed she was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Adams was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending the posting of bond.
07/24/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 42 year old Lisa C. Lancaster of Princeton after she was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop Sgt. Perry and K-9 Ace arrived on scene. K-9 Ace alerted to narcotics being located in the vehicle and therefore the vehicle was searched for contraband. During the traffic stop, MCPD Officer’s located suspected drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine. Lancaster was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending the posting of bond. Lancaster is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 18 year old Zachary Burns of Mt. Carmel after he was wanted on a Wabash County warrant charging him with aggravated stalking. Police observed Burns in the 1000 block of Poplar Street and placed him under arrest. Burns was taken to the Wabash County Jail where he was held on $18,000 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 43 year old Melissa K. Haycraft of Albion after she was observed operating a motor vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. Haycraft was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending the posting of bond. Haycraft was cited for driving on a suspended license.
07/25/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 39 year old Timothy W. Morrison of Mt. Carmel after a complaint was filed against him. The complainant advised that Morrison chased a 17 year old boy through the streets of Mt. Carmel. The 17 year old was able to avoid Morrison and told his parents about the event. Police caught up with Morrison and arrested him on one count of stalking. Morrison was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
07/26/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 18 year old Andrew J. Wise of Mt. Carmel on drug charges after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the area of the area 4th and Bellmont Street. During the traffic stop K9 Ace and handler Sgt. Perry arrived on scene. K9 Ace alerted to the presence of drugs inside of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and suspected cannabis and drug paraphernalia were located. Wise was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with possession of less than 30 grams of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver, and possession of alcohol by minor. Wise is being held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police 19 year old Kevin J. Penrod of Bincombe, Illinois after he was topped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop it was determined he was in possession of suspected cannabis. Penrod was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for disobeying a traffic control device and possession of cannabis. Penrod is being held pending the posting of bond.
