The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
07/02/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 25 year old Christopher I. Brown of Mt. Carmel after he was observed operating a motor vehicle on Walnut Street. The arresting officer reported that he knew Brown was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Brown was stopped and subsequently arrested for driving while license is suspended. Brown was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he also received a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Brown was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 54 year old Angela D. Sloss of Bellmont after Police were called to the Dollar General Store reference a shop lifter. Police stopped Sloss outside of the store and found her to be possession of items that she failed to pay for before leaving. Sloss was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with retail theft.
07/04/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 18 year old Branson R. Hall of Mt. Carmel after police were called to the 100 block of W. 1st Street reference a disturbance. Police were told that Hall was wanting to fight the residents of 115 W. 1st Street. While speaking with Hall the arresting officer reported that he could smell alcohol coming from Hall’s person. Hall was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held until he was released to a sober adult.
7/05/2017-Mt. Carmel Police received a 911 call of a fight in the intersection of 9th and Cherry Street. When police arrived on scene the individuals had left the area and traffic had resumed. The victim in the incident went to the Mt. Carmel Police Department and filed a complaint. Witnesses to the fight reported to the police that the victim was punched by a male subject later identified as 61 year old Joseph F. Kile of Marshall, Illinois. The victim advised he was trying to get baseball equipment from his ex-wife when her boyfriend attacked him. Kile was arrested and taken to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with aggravated battery. Kile was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 38 year old Rachel E. Adams of Mt. Carmel after charges were signed against her for disorderly conduct. Adams is accused of going to LIP Motor Sports and confronting her ex-boyfriend. Adams is said to have been yelling at her boyfriend and then left the area squeling the tires on her 2002 Chevrolet. This was the second time Adams was told to leave her ex-boyfriend alone. MCPD Officers located Adams and placed her under arrest for disorderly conduct. Adams was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
