The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
07/11/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 27 year old Justin M. Bray of Mt. Carmel after he was stopped in the area of Hydraulic Avenue and 4th Street. The arresting officer knew Bray was wanted on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant and initiated a traffic stop. During the arrest Bray, officers found suspected methamphetamine on the person of Bray. Bray was transported to the Wabash County Jail and charged with possession of methamphetamine. Bray was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 37 year old Joshua T. Hartley of Evansville after he was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Hartley was driving on a revoked driver’s license. Hartley was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with driving while revoked. Hartley was held pending the posting of bond.
07/12/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested Brett A. Brethe, age 31, of Oakland City after the car he was a passenger in was stopped by Mt. Carmel Police. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Brethe was in possession of narcotics and a set of brass knuckles. Police arrested Brethe and transported him to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of hypodermic needles. Brethe was held pending the setting and posting of bond.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Whittney D. Griffin, age 27, of Mt. Carmel. Griffin was arrested for unlawful display of registration. Griffin was taken to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of $150.00 cash bond.
07/13/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 32 year old Johnathon M. Schrodt of Mt. Carmel after police were checking on a suspicious person in the 800 block of Market Street. Police stopped Schrodt and found him to be in possession of narcotics and a handgun. Police arrested Schrodt and transported him to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with possession of a firearm without a FOID, unlawful possession of firearm ammo, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Schrodt was held pending the setting and posting of bond.
