The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
06/21/2016-Mt. Carmel Police were called to the Family Dollar reference a shop lifter. According to the Police report, 39 year old Michael J. Canfield of Mt. Carmel took a bottle of anti-itch cream without paying for it. Canfield was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with retail theft.
06/23/2016-Mt. Carmel Police were called to the Dollar General reference a wanted person being in the store. Police arrived on scene and were able to place 32 year old Jessica K. Perry of Mt. Carmel under arrest. Perry was wanted on a Gibson County warrant for driving while under influence.
James R. Dill, age 21, of Mt. Carmel was arrested after he went to the Wabash County Jail to visit a family member. While Dill was waiting to speak with the incarcerated family member, it was discovered he had a Wabash County warrant. Dill was arrested and turned over to a Wabash County Corrections Officer. Dill was held pending the posting of $775.00 cash bond.
Dylan J. Foote, age 24, of Mt. Carmel was arrested after being stopped on his bicycle for a traffic violation. During the stop it was discovered that Foote was wanted on a Lawrence County failure to appear warrant. Foot was taken into custody and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Foote was held on the Lawrence County warrant.
06/25/2016-Mt. Carmel Police were called to an underage drinking party at 1005 N. Mulberry Street in Mt. Carmel. Upon arrival officers were able to locate 3 individuals under the age of 21 consuming alcohol. Mt. Carmel Police arrested a 16 year old male, a 16 year old female, and 18 year old Hagan R. Robinson. All subjects were transported to the Wabash County Jail where they were processed and then returned to a family member.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 50 year old Cathy S. Allen of Mt. Carmel after she was stopped for a traffic violation. According to the Mt. Carmel Police report, Allen was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of W. 9th Street. During the traffic stop it was suspected that Allen was under the influence of alcohol. Allen was subsequently arrested for DUI and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Allen was cited for DUI and for having expired registration plates. Allen was held pending the posting of bond.
