The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
04/06/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 24 year old James V. Breen of Mt. Carmel after he was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle with a clear liquid substance. Breen was arrested in the 1200 block of Bainum Street. Breen is charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of methamphetamine. Breen is being held in the Wabash County Jail pending the posting of bond.
04/07/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 31 year old Brent E. Lordahl of Madison Heights, Virginia after he was stopped by the Mt. Carmel Police for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Lordahl was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Lordahl was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for driving while revoked and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Lordahl was held pending the posting of bond.
04/08/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 35 year old Chastidy A. Byrns of Mt. Carmel. Byrns was arrested on a Lawrence County warrant. Byrns was located at 1149 W. 3rd Street in Mt. Carmel. Byrns was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held on a $500.00 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 24 year old Charlene M. Read of Calhoun, Illinois. Read is accused of endangering the life of a child and being in possession of drug paraphernalia. Police received a report that Read was operating a motor vehicle with children in the car. The complainant advised Read was under the influence of synthetic cannabis. Police located Read and determined she was not fit to be in the care of the children. Read was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with child neglect and drug paraphernalia. Read was held pending the posting of bond.
04/09/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 34 year old Michael S. Keneipp of Mt. Carmel after he was observed operating a motor vehicle in the area of 3rd and Walnut Street. Keneipp was stopped and found to be suspended. Keneipp also had a metal pipe on his person that had suspected cannabis residue. Keneipp was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving suspended.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 18 year old Joshua E.R. Dill of Mt. Carmel after her was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop the arresting officer reported seeing beer and liquor in the vehicle. It was also discovered that Dill was operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. Dill was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor, driving without a valid driver’s license, and failure to wear a seat belt. Dill would later be released after posting bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 23 year old Joseph F. Murphy of Memphis, Indiana. Murphy was stopped for a traffic violation and during the traffic stop it was discovered that Murphy was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Murphy was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with driving while suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
04/10/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 51 year old Twania J. Rayborn of Mt. Carmel. Police arrested Rayborn after she was observed operating a motor vehicle in the 500 block of Market Street. Rayborn was wanted on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant ($1,000 cash) and a Lawrence County failure to appear warrant ($150 cash). Rayborn was taken into custody and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was served the two warrants.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 28 year old Robin M. Hodgson of Keensburg after the vehicle she was operating crashed into a boat parked at 919 W. 5th Street. Police responded to the accident and reported finding Hodgson under the influence of alcohol. Hodgson was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with DUI and held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested two 16 year old boys after they were accused of shooting at vehicles in the 800 block of Mulberry Street. The complainants reported that as they drove down Mulberry Street their windows were shot with a bb gun. Police located the two 16 year old and placed them into custody. The two 16 year old were placed into a juvenile detention center until their court date.
04/11/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 37 year old John D. Heusmann of Haubstadt, Indiana after he was found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle. Last week MCPD Officer’s responded to the 1000 block of Cherry Street reference a stolen vehicle. The complainant, Yvonne Burkett reported that Heusmann took her car without permission. Heusmann was found early this morning driving the stolen 2012 Ford in the 100 block of E. 3rd Street. Police arrested Heusmann and charged him with theft, possession of a converted vehicle, and driving while suspended. Heusmann was also wanted on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant ($700 cash) and a Lawrence County warrant ($375 cash). Heusmann was transported to the Wabash County Jail and is being held pending the posting of bond.
