On 04/07/2017-Mt. Carmel Police along with the U.S. Marshal’s Service checked on local registered sex offenders and registered violent offenders against youth. The operation resulted in the arrest of Phillip R. Majors, age 32, of Mt. Carmel. As a registered violent offender Majors is a required to register his address with the Mt. Carmel Police Department. During the registration check it was discovered that Majors was living at 1413 W. 3rd Street and not the address he provided Mt. Carmel Police. Majors was arrested and charged with failure to change address as a violent offender against youth and criminal trespass to state supported property. Majors was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
04/06/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 19 year old Evan T. Doan of Mt. Carmel after police responded to Borowiak’s IGA reference a shop lifter. Police watched surveillance video of Doan while he was inside of the store. Doan is accused of taking 2 boxes of Advil PM without paying for the said items. Doan was later located and placed under arrest. Doan was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with retail theft. Doan was held pending the posting of $150.00 cash.
04/04/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 25 year old Domenic Migliarese II of Mt. Carmel after police saw him in the 1100 block of Mulberry Street. The arresting officer knew Migliarese was wanted on a Wabash County warrant charging him with violation of conditional discharge. Migliarese was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
