The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
03/28/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 30 year old Kody J. Baker of Mt. Carmel after he was stopped for driving while driver’s license is suspended. Baker was stopped in the 700 block of Market Street and arrested. Baker was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
03/30/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 25 year old Zakkary W. Meyer of Mt. Carmel after he was observed in the 500 block of Market Street. Mt. Carmel Police knew that Meyer was wanted on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant. Meyer was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
04/01/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 21 year old Javier De La Cruz of Newburg, Maryland. Police stopped De La Cruz after he was found to be traveling 68 mph in the 700 block of W. 9th Street where the speed limit is 35 mph. De La Cruz was stopped and suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. De La Cruz was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with DUI, speeding and no valid driver’s license. De La Cruz was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 48 year old Michael A. Thomas of La Plata, Maryland. Thomas was arrested after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 700 block of Walnut Street. During the traffic stop it was believed that Thomas was under the influence of alcohol. Thomas was arrested for DUI and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
04/02/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 39 year old Amy L. Wheeler of Mt. Carmel after she was observed in the area of Southview Drive in Mt. Carmel. The arresting officer knew Wheeler had a warrant out of Hamilton County and Wabash County. Wheeler was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending the posting of bond.
04/03/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 23 year old Zachary D. W. Houchin of Mt. Carmel for suspected DUI after he was stopped in the area of the 200 block of W. 12th Street. The arresting officer noted that Houchin had an alcoholic beverage smell coming from his person and was not fit to drive. Houchin was arrested on suspicion of DUI and disorderly conduct. The disorderly conduct charge stemmed from a complainant who stated Houchin was outside of his residence revving the engine to his vehicle. Houchin was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 31 year old Nicholas K. Lofton of Mt. Carmel after police made contact with him in the 1300 block of Cherry Street. Lofton was wanted on a warrant out of Edwards County. Lofton was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
