The following individuals were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
03/16/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 21 year old Ryan (Max) C. King of Mt. Carmel after responding to a robbery complaint at 531 Plum Street in Mt. Carmel. When police arrived on scene they were told by the victim that King came to her residence and told her to give him money. The victim advised she thought King was joking and laughed off the comment. The victim stated King then used force to remove her purse and took her money. King was located at 219 E. 6th Street in Mt. Carmel. King was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with Robbery, Battery, and Theft. King is being held in the Wabash County Jail pending the formal setting of bond.
03/17/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested Tommy L. Askren of Mt. Carmel after he was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop it was confirmed Askren was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Askren was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with driving while license is suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 51 year old Breck Garrett of Keensburg after police were called to the 1100 block of N. Mulberry Street in Mt. Carmel. The victim advised that Garrett punched him while at Comeaux’s Daiquiri Bar in Mt. Carmel. Breck was later located and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with aggravated battery. Breck was held pending the posting of bond.
03/19/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 22 year old Dalton Peach of Orlando, Florida after the vehicle he was in was stopped for a traffic violation. It was discovered that Peach was operating the vehicle on a suspended Florida driver’s license. Peach was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for driving while suspended. Peach was released after posting $150.00 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 22 year old Ashlee M. Hampsten of Mt. Carmel after police stopped her for a traffic violation in the 1300 block of W. 9th Street. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Hampsten was wanted on a failure to appear warrant out of Wabash County. Hampsten was also found to be in possession of suspected cannabis. Hampsten was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was cited for possession of cannabis and served the Wabash County Warrant. Hampsten was held pending the posting of $300.00 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 39 year old Ivan K. Dill of Mt. Carmel after police responded to a disturbance on Beauchamp Street in Mt. Carmel. When police arrived on scene they found Dill hiding behind a mobile home. A record check indicated that Dill was wanted on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant. Dill was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he is being held without bond.
