MCPD arrest report 2/6 – 2/7

The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police.  All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

02/06/2017-Mt. Carmel Police were called to the Red Cafe at Wabash Valley College reference a fight.  When officer’s arrived on scene they were told that two students were involved in a physical altercation inside of the Red Cafe.  After taking witness statements both students were arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery.  The students were identified as Donte Smith, age 21 of Chicago and Kechelle K. Figueroa, age 20, of New Orleans.  Smith was also served a Wabash County warrant failure to appear on a hit and run.  Both subjects are being held in the Wabash County Jail pending the setting of bond.  Mt. Carmel Police were assisted by the Illinois State Police and the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office.

Mt. Carmel Police arrested 28 year old David M. Blanchette of Mt. Carmel after a vehicle he was riding in was stopped by police.  The arresting officer recognized Blanchette in the back seat of the vehicle and knew he was wanted on a Wabash County warrant.  Blanchette was taken into custody and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was served the failure to appear warrant.  Blanchette is being held pending the posting of $200.00 cash bond.

02/07/2017- A Mt. Carmel resident was taken into custody after she arrived intoxicated at the Mt. Carmel Police Department requesting to be arrested.  Police attempted to get the female help and even provided her a ride to a relative’s residence.  When officer’s arrived at the family members home, they noticed the female subject with a lighter trying to ignite the back seat of the squad car.  The female subject then began to fight with the police officers.  The female subject was identified as Whitney O. Willett, age 27, of Mt. Carmel.  Willett was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with aggravated assault, resisting a peace officer, and criminal damage to government supported property.  Willett is being held pending the posting of bond.
