The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
02/02/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 20 year old Tori J. Vanvleet of Mt. Carmel after she was observed operating a motor vehicle in the 200 block of E. 9th Street. The arresting officer knew Vanvleet was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Vanvleet was stopped and subsequently arrested for driving while suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Vanvleet was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 26 year old Brandon S. Rayborn of Mt. Carmel on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant. The arresting officer observed Rayborn walking in the 1000 block of Plum and knew Rayborn was wanted. Rayborn was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $200.00 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 28 year old Brittany N. Howder of Sylvania, Georgia after she was stopped for a traffic violation in the 100 block of W. 6th Street. During the traffic stop it was discovered that she was driving on a suspended driver’s license. A search incident to arrest resulted in officer’s finding suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the car. Howder was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Howder was held pending the posting of bond.
02/03/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 37 year old Dereck L. Cross of Mt. Carmel after police were dispatched to a disturbance at Comeaux’s Daiquiri Bar in the 100 block of E. 9th Street. Cross was charged with disorderly conduct after police determined he disturbed the peace of others in the establishment. Cross was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $150.00 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 29 year old Cory W. Tinsley of Mt. Carmel after police were called to the area of 1230 N. Walnut Street reference a domestic. During the course of the investigation the complainant advised Tinsley shoved her into a door causing a laceration to her head and then threw her phone against the wall when she tried to call police. The victim was treated at Wabash General Hospital for injuries she sustained during the altercation. Police would later find Tinsley at a friends residence and place him under arrest. Tinsley is being charged with aggravated domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of a domestic. Tinsley is currently being held in the Wabash County Jail on a $4,000 cash bond.
02/04/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 21 year old Kyle W. Dyson on a Wabash County warrant charging him with criminal sexual abuse. It is alleged that Dyson had sexual relations with a minor that resulted in a pregnancy. Dyson was taken into custody after he was observed in the 900 block N. Walnut Street. Dyson was also wanted on a Wabash County Failure to appear warrant. Dyson is being held in the Wabash County Jail on a $1,300 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 18 year old Draven J. Davis of Mt. Carmel after he and another person were observed operating an ATV on the roadway in the 200 block of S. Mulberry Street. The arresting officer initiated a traffic stop. Davis stopped his vehicle while the other ATV continued. Davis was arrested and cited for no valid driver’s license and improper operation of an ATV on the roadway. The investigation continues on the subject who ran and further charges are expected.
02/05/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 47 year old David Jason Seaton for a second time in a week for violating an order of protection. Seaton is charged with violating an order of protection after he was observed within 500 feet of a protected person’s residence. Seaton was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the setting and posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 24 year old Brandon J. Plew of Hutsonville, Illinois after police were called to the area of 5th and Walnut Street. Police were dispatched to the area after police were told a male subject jumped from a vehicle in the area of 5th and Walnut Street. Police located the subject and found that he was in possession of a cannabis smoking pipe. Plew was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Plew was held pending the posting of $150.00 cash.
