The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
02/16/2017-Mt. Carmel Police were called to Lincoln Park reference a disturbance. Police were told that 28 year old Michael J. Read of Mt. Carmel shoved a 65 year old female who was at the Park. According to the police report, Read was in an argument with a 28 year old female and would not let her leave the park. The 65 year old victim tried to intervene and that is when Read pushed her against a vehicle. Read was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with aggravated battery.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 47 year old David Jason Seaton of Mt. Carmel for violating an order of protection. Seaton is accused of being within 500 feet of a protected property. This is the third time Seaton has been arrested on an order of protection violation. Mt. Carmel Police first arrested Seaton on February 1. Seaton was held pending the posting of bond.
02/18/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 52 year old Tina M. Davis of Mt. Carmel after police found her parked in the intesection of 5th and Market Street. The arresting officer reported that contact was made with Davis and it was discovered that her vehicle had 5 guns in the car with one being uncased sitting in the passenger side of the vehicle. Davis then told the arresting officer she thought one of the guns were stolen. Davis was taken into custody and charged with unlawful use of a weapon. None of the five guns were actually stolen. Davis was held at the Wabash County Jail pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 28 year old Megan R. McKendry of Mt .Carmel after she was stopped for a traffic violation in the are of 3rd and Oak Street. During the traffic stop it was discovered that McKendry was operating the motor vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. McKendry was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license is suspended.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 3 individuals on alcohol related charges after police received a tip that there was an underage drinking party was at 1014 N. Market Street. Arrested was 22 year old Shane Durham of Mt. Carmel. Durham is accused of providing alcohol to two individuals under the age of 21. Dylan Brown, age 20, of Mt. Carmel and Sydney M. Allen, age 19, of Oblong were arrested for consumption of alcohol by a minor. All subjects were processed at the Wabash County Jail and later released.
02/20/2017-Mt. Carmel Police were called to the 400 block of W. 4th Street reference a domestic disturbance. Police responded and were told that an intoxicated Jade McClane, age 30, of Mt. Carmel was breaking windows out of a residence. Police were unable to locate McClane but the property owner advised they would like to pursue charges against McClane. McClane was located and placed under arrest for criminal damage to property. McClane was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending the posting of bond.
