The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
02/14/2017-Mt. Carmel Police were dispatched to 219 E. 6th Street in Mt. Carmel reference a male subject beating a dog. When police arrived on scene they observed 59 year old William W. Wolf of Mt. Carmel standing on the front porch with a dog. The responding officer’s knew Wolf was wanted on three Wabash County warrants. When police identified themselves Wolf ran from the porch in an attempt to get away from the officers. Wolf was caught and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was served the 3 warrants. Wolf is wanted for failure to register as a violent offender, failure to appear in court, and for domestic battery. Wolf was also charged with resisting arrest. Wolf is currently being held in the Wabash County Jail on $21,500 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 22 year old Dakoda B. Grimes of Mt. Carmel after police observed him in the area of 13th Street and Cherry Street. The arresting officer knew Grimes was wanted on Wabash County warrant for violation of probation. When Grimes was arrested he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Grimes was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was issued the warrant and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Grimes was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police responded to a 911 call at 206 E. First Street in Mt. Carmel reference a disturbance. Police arrived on scene and were told that 28 year old Danny T. Huffstetler of Clover, South Carolina was threatening individuals in the home with bodily harm. According to the police report, Huffstetler threatened to burn down the house and slash the tires on the home owner’s vehicle. Even as officer’s were taking him into custody he threatened harm to the occupants. Huffstetler was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with assault and intimidation. Huffstetler is being held pending the posting of bond.
02/15/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 19 year old Abigail N. Piper of Evansville, Indiana after a vehicle she was a passenger in was stopped by police. Police reported that Piper was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for speeding. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Piper was under the influence of alcohol. Piper was arrested and cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor.
