The following subjects have been arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
01/16/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 21 year old Zachary K. Karch of Freedom, Indiana. Karch was arrested after he was stopped for a traffic violation. During the stop Karch was suspected of being under the influence of drugs. Karch was arrested for DUI drugs, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and cited for possession of cannabis. Karch was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
Police were notified of a reckless driver on Market Street and as officer were responded to the area they were told that a vehicle fitting the reckless driver’s vehicle had just crashed into a utility pole. Police arrived on scene and spoke with the driver, Colt C. Wilson, age 29, of Price, Utah. Wilson claimed he was ran off the road by another driver. Wilson was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and subsequently arrested for DUI. Wilson was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
01/17/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 59 year old David M. Russell of Mt. Carmel after police were called to his residence in the 1100 block of W. 3rd Street reference a disturbance. During the investigation Russell became uncooperative and ran from the responding officers. Russell was apprehended and charged with resisting a police officer. Russell was taken to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
1/20/2017-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 19 year old Natalie E. Laws of Mt .Carmel after she was accused of stealing from her employer. Laws is accused of taking money, dog food, and candy from Shopko. Laws was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with retail theft.
1/22/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested 32 year old Gina A. Blood of Mt. Carmel after she was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop the arresting officer reported smelling an alcoholic beverage smell coming from the person of Blood. Blood was arrested for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Blood was held pending the posting of bond.
