The following individuals were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
11/03/2017-Mt. Carmel Police were called to a disturbance in the 200 block of W. 6th Street. Police arrived on scene and found two intoxicated individuals on the front porch of 226 W. 6th. Police reported that 23 year old Cassondra N. Burton had fallen causing a minor injury. Burton became combative with first responders and was subsequently arrested. Arrested with Burton was 31 year old Dustin L. Kieffer. Kieffer was arrested after he interfered with the arrest of Burton. Both Mt. Carmel residents were transported to the Wabash County Jail. Burton was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer. Kieffer was charged with obstructing a police officer. Both subjects are held pending the posting of bond. MCPD was assisted by Mt. Carmel Fire, Wabash County Sheriff’s Office, and Gibson County Ambulance.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 18 year old Zachary R. Morrell of Mt. Carmel after he was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop Morrell was found to be in the possession of drug paraphernalia. Morrell was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for no insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Morrell was held pending the posting of bond.
