MCPD arrest report 10/28-10/30

The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department.  All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

10/28/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 29 year old Brittany G. Cunningham of Mt. Carmel after police were sent to her residence at 116 N. Mulberry Street for a domestic disturbance.  During the investigation it was discovered that Cunningham was in possession of suspected narcotics.  Cunningham was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Cunningham was held pending the posting of bond.

Mt. Carmel Police arrested two individuals after police on patrol observed the two arguing in the 400 block of W. 5th Street.  During the investigation it was discovered that Charles J. Hagan, age 30, of Mt. Carmel was in possession of narcotics not prescribed to him.  Hagan was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance.  A second defendant, Jackie P. Martinez, age 31, of Mt. Carmel was arrested after she admitted to officer’s that she gave Hagan her prescription pills. Martinez was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with delivery of a controlled substance.  Both subjects were held pending the posting of bond.

10/30/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested Nicholas K. Lofton, age 31, of Mt. Carmel on an Edwards County Warrant.  Lofton was observed in a motor vehicle at the intersection of 9th and Poplar Street.  Lofton was taken into custody without incident.

Mt. Carmel Police arrested 23 year old Mark A. Wagner of Mt. Carmel after he was accused of making a false 911 call.  Wagner called 911 and stated there was an intoxicated male subject at Rub Em Right BBQ.  Wagner stated he was at the store and requested assistance.  When police arrived on scene they were told Wagner was not at the store.  Officer’s met with Mark and it was reported that he admitted to calling 911 even though there wasn’t an emergency.  Wagner was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct by calling in a false 911 complaint.  Wagner was held pending the posting of bond.

Mt. Carmel Police arrested 37 year old David W. Rumade of Albion after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 300 block of W. 3rd Street.  During the traffic stop it was discovered that Rumade was driving on a suspended license.  When officer’s arrested Rumade they discovered an uncased 9mm handgun in the door of the vehicle.   Rumade did not have a concealed carry permit nor did he have a FOID card.  Rumade was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, driving while suspended, expired registration, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  Rumade was held pending the posting of bond.
