The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
06/01/2018-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 33 year old Brandon H. Rayborn of Mt. Carmel after he was stopped in the 900 block of N. Walnut Street. Rayborn was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license. Rayborn was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 53 year old Charles R. Leonard Jr., of Evansville after police responded to a reckless driver complaint on Rt. 1. Police located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The arresting officer reported smelling an alcoholic beverage smell coming from the driver and requested he submit to field sobriety testing. Leonard was subsequently arrested for DUI and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and illegal transportation of alcohol. Leonard was held pending the posting of bond.
06/03/2018-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 40 year old Nathaniel A. Anderson of Albion after he was stopped by MCPD Officer’s. The vehicle Anderson was driving was called in as a reckless driver. Police located the vehicle in the 400 block of W. 9th Street and made contact with Anderson. The arresting officer reported smelling an alcoholic beverage smell coming from Anderson. Anderson was arrested for DUI and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was giving a citation for DUI. Anderson was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 20 year old Autumn R. Mays of Albion. An officer on patrol observed two male subjects he thought were in an argument behind a home in the 900 block of Walnut Street. Mays was at the residence and when police asked for her information, it is alleged she provided the arresting officer with a false name. Mays would later tell police she lied because she had warrants out of Edwards County. Police transported her to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with obstruction of justice and she was served two warrants out of Edwards County.
06/04/2018-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 23 year old Austin J. Comer of Mt. Carmel after the vehicle he was in was stopped by Mt. Carmel Police. Austin was arrested on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant, a failure to appear warrant for possession of cannabis out of Jasper County, and a manufacture and delivery of cannabis warrant out of Richland County. Comer is being held pending the posting of bond on all three warrants.
