A McLeansboro man is behind bars at the White County Jail awaiting his first court appearance in front of Judge Vaughan Wednesday morning following his arrest last week. McLeansboro officers were called to the Hamilton County Courthouse Wednesday just before 2pm due to a report of a person riding a 4 wheeler on the courthouse lawn. Officers found the 4 wheeler near the intersection of Randolph and Jackson with no sign of the rider. Officers shortly thereafter learned that the rider, identified as 24 year old Kendell Brown, had been picked up by a silver Chrysler. McLeansboro Police say officers along with County Deputies then located the car at the intersection of Route 142 and County Road 850 North. It was at that point Brown fled on foot. A brief pursuit ensued leading to Brown being subdued and taken into custody. He’s facing charges including Carless Operation of an ATV, Reckless Driving, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Criminal Damage to State Supported Property.
