Tuesday afternoon, the White County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a man walking the streets of Maunie armed with a gun. The man was reported to have approached at least two houses, and was later spotted by officers in a tree line off of County Road 1800 E. The man was taken into custody and identified as 41 year old Jason Attebury of Hanson, Kentucky. A revolver was found in the wooded area Attebury was seen standing. A pickup reported earlier in the day as suspicious was also found to belong to Attebury.
Attebury was transported to the White County Jail and charged with unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held in lieu of a $150 bond.
