Lose the Pill Day
This Saturday, April 27 is a National Take Back Day where folks are asked to properly dispose of prescription pills no longer in use or expired.
It’s a national effort to help prevent prescription drug misuse, accidental poisoning and help protect the environment. Area residents can drop off unneeded or expired prescription medications at a number of area drop off sites.
Here in White County, drugs can be dropped off at anytime at the White County Sheriff’s Department, located at 108 North Main Cross Street, here in Carmi.
York Pharmacy in McLeansboro, Medicap Pharmacy in Harrisburg, the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department in Shawneetown and the Ridgway Police Department will also be accepted the unwanted meds from 10 Saturday morning until about 2 that afternoon.
