Long Johns to Short Sleeves
For those of us who grew up in the Tri-State, changing weather is not that big of a deal, but when temperatures climb over 50 degrees in a couple of days, even die hard weather freaks have to admit, that’s a pretty drastic change.
That’s what the National Weather Service says we can expect in over the weekend. Temperatures in the single digits and killer wind chills will give way to highs in the 60s and possible thunderstorms by Monday.
However, we will have some winter weather to deal with this Friday morning as there is a winter weather advisory until 9 this morning. Very light freezing rain and drizzle is expected, which could cause some travel difficulties this morning, especially during the morning commute as people head off to work, school or other appointments.
Drivers are reminded to be aware of the possibility of freezing rain causing slick spots on area roadways. Be mindful of bridges and overpasses as they will freeze first and be the last to thaw. Also slow down for intersections and leave plenty of distance between your vehicle and other vehicles.
Remember the key to driving in inclement conditions is to Slow down.
The National Weather Service forecast is calling for highs in the 60s Sunday and Monday, with sunshine expected on Sunday, but rain on Monday…..much better than snow, killer wind chills and single digit temperatures.
