The Carmi-White County Bulldog Baseball fell to Carterville yesterday afternoon on the road by a final score of 22-2.
Carterville jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning, but the Bulldogs were able to answer with 2 in the top of the 3rd to make it a 3-2 game. Carterville then exploded for 19 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning, ending the game after the 4-inning 15-run rule.
Maxon O’Daniel and Hayden Sauls collected Carmi’s only two hits on the day.
Travor Mason and Cade Allen scored Carmi’s only two runs.
The Bulldogs suffer their first loss of the season as they fall to 2-1. They will travel to Robinson tomorrow for a doubleheader vs Robinson and Bismarck-Henning.
The Carmi-White County Boys Tennis team will begin their season tomorrow as they travel to Herrin for a tournament.
