The Carmi-White County Girls Basketball team will battle Mt. Carmel tonight at the IHSA Hamilton County 2A Regional Championship.
The Lady Bulldogs are 19-9 on the year after defeating Hamilton County in the Regional Semifinals on Monday by a final score of 44-40.
The Lady Bulldogs are playing in the regional title game for the second straight season. This will be Carmi’s second matchup with the Lady Aces this season, Mt. Carmel came away with a 40-28 win earlier this month.
Fans will be able to watch and listen to tonight’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.
The Carmi-White County Boys Basketball team will host Fairfield tomorrow night at McDougal-Evers Gymnasium for their final game of the regular season, and it will also be Senior Night. Carmi will then begin regional play on Monday at home against West Frankfort. If the Bulldogs win Monday, they will face Benton in the Regional Semifinals next Wednesday at Hamilton County.
At Tuesday Night’s Carmi-White County Unit 5 Board of Education meeting, the board hired Chris Courty to return as Head Coach of the Boys Tennis team, and they also hired Clinton Wolff as the new CWCHS Football Head Coach and Athletic Director. Wolff takes over for Kurt Simon who will retire in May.
