Yesterday was a great day for the Carmi-White County Baseball and Softball teams.
The Bulldogs defeated Mt. Carmel by a final score of 10-0 in 5 innings.
Merick Millhorn picked up the win on the mound, pitching all 5 innings and allowing 0 runs on just 3 hits with 2 strikeouts.
Hayden Sauls, Ty Hollingsworth, and Travor Mason all had big days at the plate, combining for 6 hits and 6 RBI.

The Bulldogs improve to 8-9-1 on the season. They’ll be back in action today as they host Fairfield.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated Massac County in extra innings by a final score of 10-9.
Carmi fell behind 6-1 early, but the Lady Dogs rallied behind two home runs from senior Alayna Johnson to come back and tie the game at 7-7 after 7 innings.
Massac would score 2 in the top of the 8th, but Torrie Rider would win it for the Lady Bulldogs with a 3-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the 8th inning.
Maggie Pearce picked up her 3rd win of the year on the mound. Johnson’s monster day at the plate featured 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 5 RBI, 3 Runs scored, and 2 home runs, her first two homers of the season.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 8-8 on the season. They will host Fairfield this afternoon at Archie Brown Field. Fans can listen to today’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL. First pitch is set for 4:30 PM.
The Carmi-White County Boys Tennis team traveled to Carbondale yesterday, and the Bulldogs fell by a final score of 9-0. Carmi will host Mt. Carmel this afternoon.
The Carmi-White County Girls Track team will also be in action this afternoon, they will travel to DuQuoin for the Lady Indian Invite.
