If you’ve got a Pre-K through 7th grader interested in playing the beautiful game, make plans to sign up for White County’s Recreational Soccer League this Saturday. Pre K players must be at least 4 years of age by August 1st to be eligible. Registration will take place from 10am – 2pm this Saturday at the Carmi Soccer Field, across from Carmi Manor.
Ferrell Hospital will be providing FREE sports physicals to students again this year. Carmi Family Medicine will offer the physicals this Thursday from 4pm to 6pm at their new location in the Carmi Crossings Plaza located in front of Wal – Mart. The varsity Carmi White County Bulldogs will kick their 2018 football season off with a trip to Sesser Valier on Friday, August 24th. Coach Kurt Simon’s squad will play their first home game the following Friday, August 31st when the Bulldogs host Christopher/Zeigler-Royalton. All CWCHS games are Friday night games this season and all start at 7pm. WRUL will once again broadcast all Bulldogs varsity football games on 97.3 and online at wrul.com.
The JV bulldogs begin their season on Monday, August 27th vs. Sesser Valier. Freshman Football gets underway on Saturday, August 25th at Fairfield with a kickoff set for 10am.
Girls and Boys Golf will open their seasons with an invitational meet at Mt. Carmel this Thursday morning. They’ll hit the links at 10am.
Carmi White County Volleyball starts on August 20th with a match in Mt. Carmel scheduled for 6:15pm. Girls Tennis starts on August 20th as well with a varsity match at home. The Lady Bulldogs will host Salem High School at 4.
Cross Country runners start their season on September 4th with a meet in Herrin.
