Little Wabash Climbing to Flood Stage Again

Little Wabash Climbing

Heavy rainfall over the next couple days along with rain that has already fallen across the area will send the Little Wabash River, here at Carmi into minor flood stage by Friday morning.

The river is forecast to crest at 31.9 feet Friday evening.  It could climb higher, depending upon the total amount of rain.

Flood stage at Carmi is 27 feet. It measured 24.1 feet Wednesday night.

At 32 feet the Little Wabash will flow up McHenry Slough and areas near Route One and 14 here in Carmi will begin to flood.

Remember never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow children to play in or near flood waters.
