Latest CoViD-19 Report Includes Percentages of Total Cases in School Age Children for August

The Egyptian Health Department is saying 66 new tri-county residents have tested positive for CoViD-19 in their latest report.  In White County, 25 new cases have been reported, 17 of them females and 5 total school age.  Gallatin County is reporting 4 new males with coronavirus.  Saline County accumulated 37 more including 13 school age children.  Hamilton County has added 11 new cases, 3 school age despite Unit 10 taking steps to give kids a break from in school learning.  Hamilton County schools let out early on Wednesday and are doing remote instruction both yesterday and today hoping that the break paired with the Labor Day holiday will mitigate the surge in positive cases and corresponding close contact quarantining that’s been taking place there.

Egyptian Health Department also released data for the tri county area that shows how many of the month’s cases were school age children.  School started mid month, but during August, over 22% of cases in White County were school age children…103 of the 355 cases.  Though Gallatin County only had 160 total cases, 28% of them were school age children.  In Saline County, just under 22% of their cases were kids age 5 – 18.
