The Carmi-White County Softball team fell to Mt. Vernon (IL) Tuesday afternoon by a final score of 1-0 in 8 innings.
Both teams failed to score for the first 7 innings, but Mt. Vernon ended the scoreless tie with a walk-off base hit in the bottom of the 8th inning.
Despite the loss, Lindsay Simmons had a good day on the mound, allowing just 1 run on 9 hits with 2 strikeouts.
At the plate,
Addi Elliott had three base hits, Ashlyn Rager picked up one base hit in the loss.
The Lady Bulldogs fall to 3-3 on the year, they are scheduled to host Woodlawn Wednesday afternoon at Archie Brown Field, weather permitting.
