Dr. Karen Weiss presented the program at the Thursday, March 1, Carmi Kiwanis Club meeting. Dr. Weiss told the club that many “great things” are happening at Southeastern Illinois College. The Club learned that SIC’s nursing program was recently rated first in the state. An SIC student also recently won a regional welding competition and another student placed fourth in the nation in indoor archery.
Dr. Weiss also told the club about a Powersports Technology program that will be offered soon. In addition, SIC is starting a competitive bowling team.
The White County Center in Carmi will be offering the Massage Therapy Program in the fall, along with a dog grooming class and the CNA Program. The Carmi Center will also be offering a Food Sanitation Class in June in addition to the popular summer children’s classes. Registration for summer and fall classes will being March 26.
